Succession’s Roy family are (of course) extravagantly wealthy. There are the PJs (private jets), the helicopters, the inexhaustible supply of iPads, the designer clothes and the yacht in series two. But above all, there are the properties.

Forbes estimated Logan Roy’s fictional net worth to be roughly £14.5 billion ($18bn) in real-life terms, with at least £278 million ($345m) in real estate across New York, England, Malibu and New Mexico. And, in recent years, some of the Roys’ luxurious homes have come to the market.

From their modern, sky-high New York penthouses to their sprawling Hamptons estate, here are some of the properties included in the Roy family’s real estate portfolio.

Kendall’s penthouse apartment – 35 Hudson Yards

Kendall Roy’s glassy, corporate Manhattan apartment featured heavily in season three of Succession. It was where he (played by Jeremy Strong) triumphantly planned his 40th birthday party, and where he sat, huddled in a blanket, afterwards. “I guess the party’s over,” he told his girlfriend, media heiress Naomi Pierce (Annabelle Dexter-Jones).

Located in Hudson Yards, a luxury development on Manhattan’s West Side, Kendall’s apartment was listed for sale for £47.5 million ($59m) in 2021. It eventually sold in September last year for £28 million ($35m).

Spanning the entire 90th floor, the 10,171 sq ft “compound in the sky” has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and a 454 sq ft private terrace for outdoor dining. At 920 feet above street level, the penthouse has 360-degree views over Manhattan and beyond, including the Freedom Tower, Statue of Liberty, East River Bridges and Atlantic Ocean.

Built in 2019, the apartment also has access to a gym, meditation room, business centre, boardroom, cocktail lounge and bar, screening room, golf simulator lounge and private dining room.

Rava Roy’s apartment – Woolworth Building, Tribeca

“Is it OK if I bring in the guys?” Kendall asks his ex-wife Rava (Natalie Gold) in the first episode of season three, seeking a base from which to overthrow his father.

“The press are swarming mine, and I need a hidey hole for meetings — plus, I actually wanted to see you and the kids,” he explains. Rava agrees, with obvious reluctance — and so team Kendall’s HQ for the season is set.

Rava’s enormous apartment in the famed Woolworth Building in Tribeca was listed for £26.8 million ($33.35m) in 2019. It sold for closer to £16 million ($20m) last year. It also featured in Sex and the City spin-off And Just Like That.

Built in 1913, the neo-Gothic building was designed by architect Cass Gilbert and was — appropriately — dubbed “the Cathedral of Commerce”. On the top two floors of the skyscraper, Rava’s apartment covers 6,711 sq ft, with five bedrooms, six bathrooms and 22-ft-high ceilings.

Inside, the apartment is kitted out with luxury fittings and appliances, including a wine fridge, steam shower, freestanding soaking bath and heated marble floors. Outside, there’s a 2,770 sq ft terrace, offering views over the city.

As with the other properties featured in the show, the building itself also offers luxury amenities, including a lounge and game room, indoor pool, fitness centre, wine cellar and tasting room.

Kendall’s new apartment – 180 East 88th Street

In series four, we see Kendall in another New York apartment — one which is currently for sale for £23.3 million ($29m).

Located at new development 180 East 88th Street, Kendall’s flashy penthouse was listed in March 2022 for £26.5 million ($33m), and remains on the market.

At 5,508 sq ft of interior space, the five-bedroom apartment has “extraordinarily high ceilings”, “thrilling panoramic views” and a private elevator to navigate its vast proportions. There’s an additional 3,500 sq ft of outdoor space spread across three levels, including a 2,100 sq ft roof terrace and covered “loggia” spaces.

Built in 2019, the development is designed to provide a “private, club-like escape”, with a wine room, children’s playroom, game room, basketball and football pitches, gym, yoga studio and residents’ lounge.

Roman Roy’s penthouse – 200 Amsterdam Avenue

Living on the opposite side of Central Park to his brother Kendall, Roman Roy (Kieran Culkin)’s two-storey penthouse on the Upper West Side is also for sale for a princely £30.6 million ($38m).

Set in one of New York’s most controversial buildings, residential skyscraper 200 Amsterdam Avenue was completed in 2021 and is the tallest building in the area at 52 storeys. In 2020, local residents sued the building’s developers over its height, and a judge ruled that 20 storeys should be chopped off the top. The decision was ultimately overturned in an appeals court, with the building still existing at its full height.

Inside, Roman’s newest residence has four bedrooms, five bathrooms and 6,325 sq ft of space. On floors 49 and 50, there are views over Central Park and the city skyline.

We know Roman enjoys his personal training sessions – luckily, there’s a state-of-the-art gym, spa and saltwater pool onsite, as well as a private club, library and rehearsal room.

Cousin Greg’s loaned apartment - Cast Iron House, Tribeca

“What do you think?” Kendall asks Greg, standing in an high-ceiled, empty New York condo.

“I think it’s huge. It’s a very large space. What’s the footage?” Greg (Nicholas Braun) replies.

“I don’t know. The developers overestimated demand so I bought all five units and my guy’s going to flip them,” sats Kendall. “It’s yours — until the market starts to move.”

Greg’s loaned apartment was slow to move on the real-life market too. Set within Cast Iron House, a neo-classical, building constructed in 1881 and re-designed by architect Shigeru Ban, the property was listed for sale in 2018 for £6 million ($7.45m). After three years on and off the market, it eventually sold for £4.5 million ($5.625m) in 2021.

Greg was right about the footage. At 3,197 sq ft, the four-bedroom apartment has three bathrooms, a custom-designed kitchen and a double-height living space. While more modest than some of the Roy family’s other residences, Greg would still enjoy access to a 24-hour doorman, steam room, sauna, treatment room, dance and yoga studio, and hydrotherapy spa.

The Hamptons holiday home – Southampton, NY

In series two, the Roy family descend upon their Hamptons holiday home, the size of a small village. We see armies of staff preparing the rooms, unpacking catering vehicles with steak and lobsters and cleaning the toilets.

“Sorry about the smell. We’re working on that,” one staff member apologises.

“Yeah, that’s bad,” says Kendall. “What the fuck is that?”

It’s a bag of dead racoons stuffed in the chimney by an underpaid contractor, it transpires. The foul atmosphere in the family lingers too, despite Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Roman’s attempts to clear the air with a stroll on the property’s private sandy beach, which extends for a quarter of a mile along the Atlantic.

The 42-acre compound is the real-life Henry Ford II Estate (grandson of the Ford founder), known as Fordune or Jule Pond. It was last sold in 2021 for a record-breaking £84.5 million ($105m) after nearly four years on the market.

Based in Southampton, where Jennifer Lopez, Jerry Seinfeld and Gwyneth Paltrow are counted among neighbours, the house was built in the 1960s and restored in 2008. As seen in Succession, its original features, including moulded ceilings, traditional chandeliers and Italian marble fireplaces, still remain.

The main house covers 20,000 sq ft, with 12 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a koi pond, waterfall, 20-ft outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, basketball court and a separate three-bedroom carriage house.
